One of my welding students from the welding school, Jammie, wanted a crappie fishing trip so we met at CFP this morning about 6:30 to give 'em a try, emoSmile Jammie is a great fishing partner at 19 yrs old and loves the out of doors as much as I do, emoThumbsup We had fun but had to work for the 50 crappie, 4 bass and 3 'gills that we ended the day with. Jammie kept 17 nice slabs for the grease since the whole family loves to eat crappie, emoHungry We turned all the rest back that were under 11 inches so next trip they would be bigger, emoTongue I did manage another TARP but we also had 3 other crappie that were over 13 and a half, emoThumbsup Fish were deep today, around a 12-15 count in at least 15 FOW. Water temp was 70 and air temp was 62* with overcast skies all day. We quit at 2:45 and it had just started to sprinkle rain.
The last crappie of the day was small but I thought he was a big 'un 'cause he was hooked in the tail. If you look at the picture closely you can see the jig stuck just in front of his tail. That was a fight, emoBig
It was a fun day and Jammie can fish with me anytime, emoThumbsup
