Does anyone have any input on Tiger Muskie and Mud Lake. I heard it winter killed a few years back but am wondering if it has rebounded. Any particular spots on the lake? Thanks.

Every winter someone catches one. The last one was over 40 inches

I love musky fishing and moved to Idaho a few years ago. I spent a lot of time researching tiger musky fishing in Idaho. Idaho fish and game lists fish stocking numbers on their website and it shows over 100,000 tigers stocked into mud lake in last 20 years, yet there is little said anywhere (online or in musky fishing magazines) about mud lake tiger fishing - I did however find several articles about repeated winter kills there over the years. To the best I can determine there is not any great tiger fishing lakes in Idaho, so I drive to Pineview reservoir in northern Utah. I caught several there this summer, biggest being 48 inches.

I wish Idaho would try to establish at least one great tiger fishery in Idaho, Utah has a few good spots, Washington has some great fishing too - Hauser lake on the Idaho panhandle was often talked about - but if you look at the stocking numbers they put 400-500 in every few years - not good odds for us fisherman.

Hey Idaho fish and game - if you are reading this, how about some great tiger musky fishing in Idaho?
