Hey all

Sometime in the future, I will be purchasing BPS microlite rod and a Tica cetus as my ultralight. I will be spooling with 2lb fireline. I was wondering if that reel, with 4lb test fireline, would be okay on a ML St Croix Triumph or if it would be too light, small, etc.

Thanks for your help

[#000000]what you need to do is match the specifications for the reel and the specifications for the rod.

since you havent given me the exact model of rod or reel I am attaching this spec charts.[/#000000]

[#000000]according to the specifications provided by the manufacture of the reel it will handle 4 pound test line with 95 copasity.
[/#000000]

[#000000][/#000000]
[#000000]now you want to match it with the rod.
[/#000000]
[#000000]here is the list below. not all of the rods are the same class so be sure to write down wich rod you want, you may have to special order it because stores will cary one combo and not all the matches posible.

[#000000]I would stay away from one peice rods otherwise you will be in desperate need of a tube to put your one peice in. you will break the one peice if you dont [/#000000]
[#000000]They do handle fish just fine, but get snagged in tree limbs snag on all sorts of things in the house all of wich can break your expencive rod. [/#000000]

So would there be any problems with a medium light St Croix? Would this reel fit, or would I have to get another one for the ml rod.

sorry if you already answered this and I didnt get it

If you click on the chart above, there is the list of rods by your manufacture and the class they are. "meaning what the rod is rated for"

The reel you sugested is rated from 2 - 6 pounds "amount of line lessens as you use bigger lines.

What I sugested was a single rod that matched your needs, meaning you want to use 2 pound test line and you want to use 4 pound test line.

If you look at the chart it tell you if the rods are one peice or two peice.

click on the chart and look at what is available for that manufacture....

you may have to order it if your store dosnt cary the spicific rod that meets your needs.

I hope this helps to clarify it a little better. I am sure if you click on the chart you will get a better understanding of what I am saying, the info is in the chart.
