If your an oil typhoon, spend a million and buy everything down the fishing ilses and Boating and RV ilses at Bass Pro and Cabella, You can never have to much fishing stuff...[
] I know I sure would....
Just to get started, go by one of those combo packeges with lures and hooks and bobber and rod and reel.
strip the line out of the reel and put in some new N40 silver thread on it and go buy a can of worms.
You will catch fish. Then if you get the enjoyment the rest of us do you can work your way up from there with quality merchandize.

Really depends on what type of fish you are targeting. The universal bait is good old worms.

Well it seems like Bass and Walleye would be fun so I guess those
And I would say I'm willing to spend in the $100 range but I have a pole, reel and tackle box so any equipment I would need for freshwater other than that.

I would start out with a few crankbaits, spinnerbaits, and try experimenting with a few soft plastics. Get some stick worms for wacky rigging, and maybe a few U-tailed worms to try out texas rigged. Wacky rigging is probably my favorite for bass. I don't know much about walleye fishing, So I can't really help you out on that end. Sorry. If you have any other questions feel free to ask. You can learn a bunch of information on wacky and texas rigs. Everyone has their own opionon on it. I guess my best advice is learn the basics and get out there and experiment. If you have any further questions again, don't be afraid to ask.

I do well with the basics.
Grab a couple repallas
one three inch and one six inch split (jointed)
One Black Jitter Bug
a cople rooster tails, one yellow and other of choice
One bag of soft brown plastics of choice
a mixed bag of bobbers
mixed box of sinkers
a box of number two octopus hooks, Owner is best, dont go cheep on the hooks.
a box of number six or four eagle clawl
pick up a few spinner blades and cleves and tie up some crawler harneses, single hook long leader for trollin walleye and bass (15 to 30 inches), double short leader casting leaders for bass and walley (6 - 8 inches).
get your self some quarter ounce lead head jig hooks and several bags soft plastic currley tails.
that will just about spend your franklin for you and put you on some pretty good fishing too.
This time of year, big fat black crickets are the magic trick for bass. I woulnt hesitate to pitch that rooster tail or either of them repallas...
A franklin dont buy much these days. so ya gotta cover the bases with your best options...
