I have some friends who really want to get some crawdads and I was wondering how the fall success has been for them. We were considering going to strawberry on friday since it is supposed to warm up a little but I can never remember how late in the year I have had good success. I know I have caught them through the ice before so they are there anyway. I am just wondering if throwing out some traps would still work and if there are better lakes than strawberry or if it is still my best bet.

any time of year through out a few traps with chicken at strawberry and check them every few hours and you'll have hundreds.

While you can still catch dads this late in the year, the summer months are 10 times better. I have seen a few dads around this week but lots of dead ones. Water temps at Strawberry are in the 40s right now and there is a film of algea on the surface. Let us know how you do.

There are tons and tons of them at Scofield also. I caught a whole bunch of them there just a few weeks ago. Chicken on a string is the best way to go.
