Well the lake trout run is in full swing. I was able to get out on Wednesday and Friday this week and did well both days. The anglers trolling along Cisco Beach are doing very well for fish from 3-12lbs. Troll parallel to shore in shallow water (10-20' deep). Also, any other locations with rocky shorelines should also be producing some fish. For the joy of everyone, please practice selective harvest (i.e. catch & release). We caught 6 lakers on Wednesday morning in about 2.5 hrs. in the rain and there were no other boats out. On Friday it was a different story. There were over 10 boats trying to troll Cisco Beach and although they were catching fish, it was combat-trolling at its finest. Not for me. I went elsewhere and did very well in water 4-10' deep. You could easily see the bottom and the fish were very actively hitting lures. I used flatfish and a fake-Rapala that had BB's in it. Both lures produced fish. Color really did not seem to matter. I was too busy catching and only took one picture. Still need to download the file. Happy fishing.
