Finally got to hit the water this afternoon after work. Got on th water about 4:15 and fished until 7:45. Water temp was 67 and it was pretty clear for the chick. Very little wind. I fished mostly upriver trying to fish some shallow points with grass. I did not ever get on this bite, but I quickly noticed fish behind me in deeper water schooling and it was on like donkey kong. Took a minute to find something they would eat. I caught a couple on a chrome xr50 that were small. I then tied on a clear/blue sammy and they ate it up. I caught my personal best smallmouth this evening, but did not have a scale, but did measure it. IT WAS 21.5 INCHES. I doubt it was very heavy though. It was skinnier than most I have caught. They were picky about the retreive, you had to jerk it slowwww and they would rape it. All in all I caught 8 smallmouth, 5 spots (1 was 16 inches), and 3 measurable largemouth. In my book it was a pretty decent day on the water, especially since I have not been in a while. emoAngler
