I went out for 2 hours Friday. 8:30-10:30p.m. Corn flavored Power Bait floating on a size 14 treble about 2 to 2.5 feet above a sliding sinker. There were 4 of us out there. I was the only one that caught fish. I could cast further than the others due to the 7' rod I use loaded with 6lb. line. If you are going in a float tube or boat, you should be golden. we fished the Public access area behind the island from shore. I caught 2 rainbows. Guessed at 16" and 18". From what I've seen there the last few years, you need to get out just a little further than the average shore fisherperson to get to the fish.
We could see minnows rising all around us. I would imagine that fishing with a minnow after dark might produce a large cutthroat. I left my minnows in the freezer. One of our crew did try a worm under a bubble for a while with no luck. Hope it helps.
