Not going, but just wondering if you could answer a question for me. When everyone says Cove Arm at CJ is it the area of the river on the other side of Crane Falls Lake, or is it the lake on the road just past Crane Falls, or is it both?
Thanks

I believe the area is both.

Thanks, is it better fishing in the Cove Arm Lake or the river area? Do fish move in and out at different times? Where would it be better to fish from pontoon boats or tubes?
We were going to go there this last summer, but it didn't happen, so now the plan is spring.
Thanks, I appreciate everyone's expertise on this site!!

Well I have caught fish in both places but havve done the best in the cove, however that has just been because they were willing to play cause by the dyke is very good as well.
Howevver this year I havve only made it over there one time.

Well I didn't get to go last weekend as the wind di blow but it looks good for tommorro so far, so I am hoping on going to Cove Arm and launching at the boat ramp in the late morning. Let me know if anyone will be in the area.

Boy I sure wish I could join you but I have to work. I always enjoy fishing at Cove Arm. There is a hole my Mom turned me on to not far off the boat launch. Not much and you usually have to anchor on it to stay put. If you can find it it usually holds some real nice perch. Seems like it is about 80-100 yrds out and just to the north. It usually takes me sometime to find it but worth the effort. Good luck to you and tight lines!!

Sounds real close to where I found some crappie as well. I usually head for the far bank and key off the pump. But I will do some more depth checking to see if I see a hole while I cruise around. Thanks and I hope to fish wiht you sometime.

Well the day was awsome!
I struggled again with my eagle 168 again, just can't seem to get it figured out for reading fish, structure depth and temp was great!
Well got there at 11 am, water temp was 49 - 50 deg, air temp was comfortable not sure but probably near 60 deg with a very light breeze so I put my jacket on.

I fished straight out from the boat ramp and over in front of the pump like I usually do and marked fish, unless I changed the sensitivity lower and when marked them the I was fairly confident they were down there, but no takers.
Finally headed ffor the dyke and picked up my first action there. First a small bass on a small minnow crank and then a 10" crappie on a lemon meragine jig with some cut bait, caught another crappie right away.

It slowed alittle and a man who seems to be fishing the dyke every time I am there sugested I try out on the river side where we both know they winter. Woked that down to about 50' with a drop shot with cut bait settup and only got a legal bass and then on my jig a smaller crappie.

Needed to head home so started back and picked the last crappie on the drop shot. Finished at 5pm.Water temp never changed.
