hit willard about 11am trying to find a boil or two. when i launched there was about 2foot white caps with hardly more than a breeze out. So much for looking for boils. I did put down cranks and trolled with the big motor for about 2 hours and picked up one wiper. I found large schools of wiper over by freeway bay where the sand bar breaks off into about 20foot or so. I marked a ton of bait fish but not many large marks around them. water temp was 56. The one fish i caught was on a Frenzy stick bait rainbow color trolled at about 2mph 17foot down in 20foot of water.

Thanks for posting your report Mike. Sounds like you did good compared to most folks. Last year, around this time, I got into one of those big boils like you were talking about. I guess it is just a matter of not giving up and being lucky enough to hit it on one of those good days[Wink]. We should try and get out there and give it a try, I'll be off on the next 3 for 9 week next month.[Smile]

I was wondering who was crazy enough to be out there with us. We ended up with 3 hook-ups but nothing in the boat. Fri was a better day for me as I boated 4 cats and 2 wipers running cranks 125 ft behind 15 ft down @ 2mph. I also had 2 other wipers on but lost them both, one of which ripped the rear wire and hook halfway up the body of my tail dancer and also took the front hook. It's not over yet, they've moved shallow chasing the shad in the warmer water.

Has anybody you know gotten into any walleye this fall? I havent heard a peep except for that big one out of Deer Creek that the guy who caught it diddnt want to share on what or where. It seemed like pulling teeth just to get a serious answer on some of the important details. I need to catch some walleye to eat.
