Took out my 12 year old son Eric and CFFer Fishsticks yesterday. Got on the water around noon and ran to Wolftever to find some fish in the backs of sloughs. All of us were throwing lipless cranks with minor success. We ran to Ski Slough where I started throwing a white Strke King Burner. Seems they wanted those tiny blades because it sounded the dinner bell. Within 10 minutes Eric and Fishsticks were throwing the same. We caught 35-40 fish including 4 good keepers the next 3 hours. We looked for baitfish breaking the surface and threw in there amongst'em. My son, who's yet to catch the fishing bug, had a blast. It was a spectacular day to be out. Water temps stayed between 62 and 65 degrees. Water was slightly stained from the wind.
