While local streams near Provo are spectacular, I am occasionally interested in branching out and exploring local places that often get passed by or disregarded. This quest has occasionally yielded some great little gems and finds for me. So two questions for you trout gurus near Utah Valley ...
1) I am interested in investigating or finding the nearest good brook trout fishing close to Provo. Currently, the only place I have really fished for them is on Strawberry River. In Pennsylvania, brookies are our only native fish - and a big brookie there is like 10-12 inches. Also, I feel like they often get disregarded around this time of year, despite the fact that they are spawning around the same time as browns.
2) Anyone every fish below Stewart falls? It is one of my favorite hikes and someone once told me there are some big rainbows in there. Anyone know anything about this?
Feel free to send a private message if you have any info in reference to either question. Honestly, I am going to have my hands full the next few weeks, but figure I might want to explore a new place or two that is local in the next few weeks. THANKS!
