From what I gather, the CO boys have realised what they did last year was not a good thing for fish lake and that the uproar it caused was not a good thing for spearing in UT.
They have backed off and as far as I know are completely compling with and backing the new dates set for spearing on Fish lake and all the other lakes in UT.
They had a recent tourney on Starvation and concentrated on killing carp, killed many of them they did, some huge ones too.
I could be wrong, but as far as I can see from the postings I have read, the spearo's are now our allies in the management of UT game fish.

Troll I am not real computer smart to find out where the new dates are if you had a link where I could read that the date has been moved forward so there is no possible way that them guys are up there during the spawn. Because they are really docile. Thanks for the info. Pikeman GOFISH

That's good to hear. Glad they appear to be conservation minded and interested in the welfare of the resource.

This had nothing to do with the spearchuckers suddenly seeing the light and realizing that what they'd done was bad for Fishlake. The sorry d[#0000ff]eleted[/#0000ff] said in their own posts that they were going to rape, pillage, and plunder, every where they went; especially if we the "Hook and Line" types got it shut down. I got more negative feedback for that episode than for any other on any site. If you took the time to really examine the photos you could tell some of those fish they claimed to be splake weren't and vice versa. Me personally, I'm glad they've moved their neoprene pageant elsewhere..... Good Riddance

I know this wont mean much to most who have already judged the spearfishing crowd but i'm going to say it any way. As with any group of people it only takes one to ruin it for everyone. Yes there were some huge trout taken @ fish lake that year. I blame the DWR for making it legal to do so. You can place the blame as you will. That problem has been addressed and fixed.

This statement was from one individual that has been ban from participating in the Rocky Mountain Spearfishing Asso. Most of the Spearo's I have met are good people who respect the wildlife and the rights of other fisher persons.
On a positive note there last torney was @ starvation. One guy shot so many carp he almost swamped his boat from the sheer weight on the way to the weight in.
