Cold Lakes are a pair of glacial tarns in the Ruby Mountains, in Elko County in the northeastern part of the state of Nevada. They are located at the head of Cold Creek Canyon, at approximately, and at an elevation of 9880 feet (3010 m).
They have a combined area of approximately 7.4 acres (3.0 hectares), and a depth of up to 28 feet (8.5 m). The outflow of these lakes are one of the sources for Cold Creek
I 80 to mount morison ave
south to Rock Creek Rd turn left or east T cross
make a left and continue south for ever till you pass Bill majors canyan. You have gone to far if you come up to Granite Canyon...
Look for a mini airport on the right hand side after you come out of bill morison canyon a few miles.
but if you keep going south you will come up on Pumpernickel Resurvoir
Cold Pond "cold lakes" looks like it is all privet... and has a privet plane parked next to its hanger..

Cold Creek Pond is just outside Vegas. Take US95 north and about 5 miles north of the turnoff for SR156, Lee Canyon, you will see the prisons on your left. Turn left at the prisons. You have to drive a ways up the mountain, around 10-15 miles. When you get up toward the houses, you will see a firehouse on the right. Take the road on the right just past the firehouse. The pond is small but they do stock it. In my opinion its not worth the trip. Although not too many people go there.

3 fish limit and you can cast from shore to shore. It's not on the maps but it is listed in NDOW stocking reports. Good Luck.

They aren't kidding when they say you can cast across it. It wouldn't take much effort as it is very small.
