We decided that the weather forcast was just too good to pass up so we headed to Deer Creek. Got on the water about 7:30. It was a little chilly. Water temp was 51. We targeted walleye all morning. Tried everything we could think of, from one end of the lake to the other. We got two perch for all the effort. The perch were surprisingly nice size and fat. The largest one was 11 inches. After watching all the other boats trolling for trout and having success, we decided to troll our way back to the marina. The trout were really ready to play. It didn't seem to matter what we offered them, they took it. Largest one was 18 inches. Several were fat planters about 14 or 15 inches. We kept a couple for dinner. Left about 2:00. The day was really great, almost no wind. Just wish we could have found the eyes.
