i agreed to meet up with rick (rctalbot) after a few attempts at getting together we finally made it out after he harrassed me enough[:p] lol jk....
met up in morgan around 830 and we were off on our journey for some toads... he hadnt yet caught a beasty brown yet so i was on a mission!!! i was nervous due to the fact the past week hasnt treated me well on the water..
he started off with a promising lookn rapala in the right size, i gave him some pointers on my techniques for fishing floatin raps.. and he picked up the skill quickly and we started our voyage rippin holes and pickin apart cover..
i too was throwin the rap with little success.. saw a few nice fish bust on my rap and a few others on his but not the fish we were after and no hookups..
after 20 min of no fish it was time to re-evaluate the situation... i switched to plastics [
].. and i gave him my fav rap.
within 10 min we had several fish landed and i was getting pumped...the fish were stacked at the top of the riffles and the fishing was on!!!
after 7ish hours of fishing we landed well over 20 trout ( woulda been more but someone couldnt keep the rapala in the fishes mouths lol jk bro) i hooked a fish around 25" that threw the jig.. rick also hooked a behemoth at at least 24" to 25" that shook his rap..
it was an awesome day on the water, it was warm and rick is an awesome guy and skilled fisherman with lots of fishin storys to tell... thanks again for rolling with me dude cant wait to hit it again...!!!
