I fished the diversion inlet in knights hollow today and last night. Fishing was very slow. I was tossing large jigs right into the canal area and hooked into the biggest brown I have caught to date on a public lake in utah. It has an awesome hookjaw that went about 25 inches long. The wideness was what surprised me. I could not even get my hand around its shoulders. I would say as an estimate about 5 1/2 -6 pounds. Caught it on my second cast of the night last night. I was also trying to catch walleye not trout but was still happy to feel the fight of a fish on the line. I will be back again because I cant let it freeze over without catching a couple walleye for a final open water shore lunch fish fry. Anybody in the area the next few days that wants to fish with me let me know I am available from about 3 till dark.

Good to see you still on the water. Looks like the weather is going to curtail my fishing for awhile. Was hoping for a couple more trips to Starvation before winter really set in but I don't think thats going to happen.
Good luck on the hard water and by the way - you still owe me a shore lunch [Wink]

What is shore lunch?????????? ...................

Just kidding Roger

The offer expires in 2009.........................................Just kidding again.

Lets still try to get out if the weather changes in our favor. If not Starvation how about Willard or Deer Creek? I could make a great shore lunch with wipers!! Let me know. I have plenty of time to fish during the week of thanksgiving.

Lets wait and see if the weather pattern changes.
I have to take the Ranger in for some minor warranty work but I've been putting it off in the hopes of getting some more fishing in.
Wipers instead of walleyes for shore lunch [unimpressed]
Thats like comparing a rutting old stinking bull elk compared to a fat cow for eating [:p]
If I drive as far as Deer Ck. I'll just keep going to Starvation. To many slimers and not enough eyes in DC for my taste.
I'll be in touch.

I only said wipers because I have not heard anything about you or anybody else catching walleye this fall out of Willard. If we can catch the walleye I would not even question which one to fry up on the shore. You know that. [Wink]

As far as elk go, if I had a choice to eat any think it would be a cow calf or a small spike. MMMMMMmmmmmmmmMMMMM good[cool]
