Went out for a few hrs this afternoon trying to hone my skills a bit. I dont know if i accomplished that or not, but I did manage a few fish. All but one of them took my attractor fly which seemed odd to me but if thats what they want then thats what they can have. Not much size to them today, biggest brown might have been 12-14 not sure. I just tried to snap a quick pic and get them back in the water. Just before it was time to go a few deer decided to cross the river about 40 yards or so away. Bad pics but it was still a nice cap to the trip anyways.

Very Nice Spoondog. The deer are a sweet touch.
I was standing on a shore the other day. Forgot the wading boots and didn't want to get the hikers wet.
Anyway, I see something moving out the corner of my eye. A little mouse.
He was headed for my sling that I laid on the ground. He got nervous, turned and ran back to the grass. A few minutes later, he tried again but this time he was getting a little too close for my taste, so I shuffled my foot.
He ran back to the grass. Then a few minutes later, I see a little splash and that little mouse dog paddling in front of me to the grass on the other side of me.......Thought too late to get the camera, but funny. EXCUSE ME!
What is that fly in the second picture. It looks something like a Pheasant tail.
Thanks for the report!

It is either a 14 or 16 pheasant tail and was trailed by a #20 black zibra Midge, #20 pink scud, also tried a several different sow bugs. The fish only wanted the larger pheasant tail. With the exception of one brown who actually had both flys hooked in its mouth. I guess i must have made a bad cast or had too much slack or it was just an aggressive fish because that was a first.

Funny how the small things can make a trip.

That fish in the second pic has some of the most interesting coloration. Gorgeous!

Anyone else been gettin into the tigers on the webe? I got a bunch the other day. wondering why the dwr chose to put em in there, or if they migrated down from a reservoir?

I caught what i am pretty sure was a wild tiger trout about 1 1/2 miles below taggert 2 weeks ago. But I am pretty sure the DWR has been stocking them in a few places. You cant keep them off your hook up by rockport. All are fingerling stages but given a few years they should have some potential.
