Well, I was sitting here this morning feeling sorry for myself missing out on such a great day yesterday for fishing. My dad ended up catching a cold and decided to stay out of the wind so we didn't go to Strawberry or Scofeild as planned. With the storm coming I had to get out and catch some fish. didn't have alot of time so I hit a local pond thats been known to hold some good browns. it was mid-day and I didn't really expect much. There was a slight wind. I pulled out the pole rigged up a wholly bugger, and casted out, nothing for the first few casts, I was begginning to wonder if it was a waste of time, then tap tap, jerk, miss, well this could be fun, I quickly put it right back into the hole, and Wham! a nice fighting brown, about 20", spent the next 2 hrs watching them rise and slam the wholly and the fun would begin again. Ended up catching 6 really nice fish. Brought one home for a feast. The rest to catch another day. All in all just enough excitment and satisfaction to let it snow! Bring on the ice.
