Saw rsimms on FB last night and he was game for going fishing this morning. I picked him up at 8AM and the wind was minimal. We caught quite a few good fish at our first spot but not the numbers that have been there. We had one that was 15 inches and another that was right at 14 inches. The wind picked up and we moved to another deep water spot. Caught a few good fish there then moved to a bluff. Had some good ones there and a few 11 inchers. Went to another bluff but there was someone parked there. Went to a dock close by but didn't have any fish on it. Ran up to another dock that had some fish but they were not at a consistent count. Some were at an 8 count and others at a 12 count. We caught two on that dock that were snagged, in other words, not caught in the mouth. The one that I caught there was snagged as I reeled quickly in at the end of a cast. We went back to our first spot to see if the fish had turned back on but the wind made it tough to fish. We tried some brushpiles in the creek without a hit and we called it a day. We quit at around 1PM. I have caught some fish in the creek on brush recently but the water had muddied up and I would expect that was the reason for the slow bite there. The current was really ripping on the main lake but the fish were active on docks with eddy flow and on bluffs. In general it seemed like the bite was a bit slower than it was early in the week. I really believe that there were a lot of fish on the dock where we caught a few but most of them were in a negative mood and therefore the two that were snagged. The fish on docks were at an 8-12 count. The bigger fish are still relating to channels it seemed. We fished Panfish Assassins and BG shads with 1/32 ozers on the docks and 1/16 ozers deep and in swift current. It was a beautiful day to be out there and it was great to finally get out there with rsimms. We had planned to get out many other times but it just hadn't happened until today. rsimms has some pics that he said that he would add.
