had to just make a run up and check it out today.. it was 100% iced.. around the edge of the dam it was 3 inch's but out where the snow was it was only 1 1/2 to 2 inch's. so did not get out to far.. fishing was slow for the most part.. for 7 small tigers.. looks like there should be safe ice there for the weekend.. yeah i have ice fished fairview lakes in the past.. and it has been frozen for about 2 weeks now.. but it's been so low the last 2 years that not many fish in there that i know of.. and not very deep ether.. as long as it dont snow to much in the next week or so you can still drive right up to it.. a better bet right now and a place ya don't get to many chances to ice fish would be gooseberry.. you should be able to drive right up to it as well.. Thanks for the info Fuzzyfisher! I've always wondered about Fairview lakes in the winter but just can't pass up the opportunity to fish Huntington. My inlaws live in Fairview..... we will be down for Turkey Day and plan on fishing Friday. Sounds like the ice should be good...although they said that it may warm up on Friday before the storm on Saturday. We'll take our chances.
Anyway, maybe we'll see you down there. Hope everyone has a nice Thanksgiving!!!

well as cold as it has been at night i would not be surprised to see 4 to 6 inch's of ice up there on friday.. and yes you just might see me up there friday. lol.. wish i could have got away today and got back up there before the mass's hit it.. but had other things to do.. but i have got the the Aqua-view up and working and some of my other ice fishing things together..
