I was getting a bit of cabin fever today, with the kids out of school, I grabbed my son and his buddy from the neighborhood and zipped down to Buriston Ponds (Mona) got to the water about 4:30 this afternoon, rigged up 3 poles with PB (Peanut Butter) (just kidding) and tossed it out. Temp was a bit nip the water was calm and pretty cold, the fish were risin a bit here and there. We sat there for about 30 minutes with no luck, as the sun started to set, the action picked up. Watching 2 nine year old boys was a hoot, the fish were all about 14" and hard fighters. the bight was light though and it took the boys a bit to get the hang of hookin them up. We had a wild cat come to join us looking for food, We were releasing all the fish (barbless hooks) and every time we brought one in the cat would go crazy, I'm sure it was starving to death. so we brought in one and tossed it to the cat, WOW, he grabbed that thing before it even hit the ground and was off to a feast. The boys felt good about providing a good meal for the cat, and they decided they should be rewarded with more fish to catch because of the good deed and they were, We proceeded to hook one after another until we couldn't see our lines anymore, it was a fun time for the boys and for me, getting me ready for Friday at Scofield, Ice or no ice I'll find a place to wet a hook. Happy Thanksgiving to all!!!!
