I had another day alone today. Solitude is great sometimes. I just loved it today. Cloudy, a little bit of wind, water temps around 58 degrees, 70,000 cfs again. I did a lot of running, scouting, and fishing some new places to me. Ended up in a creek fishing blowdowns and docks. I caught 19 keeper sized crappie, kept a limit, 11" and better along with a couple of spotted bass. I fished today with my favorite lure to crappie fish. First time I have used it this long in quite a while. (Remember, DK, don't fall in love with a favorite lure). It was a pearl ringer stinger with a chartreuse tail light fished on a 1/16 oz jighead.

Some of the fish were shallow during the feeding time by my watch. Other times, I found the fish to be deep. Only lost 1 fish today and it was a big crappie that I got nearly to the top of the water before the jig just fell out. I did see the fish from about 1 foot deep. It was a nice fish. emoBang I snagged a channel cat in the belly and thought that I had a really good bass for a few minutes. He pulled drag like crazy before I finally got him to the top of the water and saw what it was. About 3 lbs and blind in one eye.

I saw Epaul, Labman and Gene, and waved at a couple of guys that acted like they knew me, or was that a finger that I saw? emoBigSmile

That's it for me this week until Friday when Murdock joins me in a 1/2 day of crappie angling. Hopefully the fish will be turned on and we will get another limit apiece. Hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving, eat a lot of turkey, sleep through the ballgames, rest up for the big weekend. The Vols finish out this weekend. Hard to believe that the regular season is already over. My how time flies when you are as old as I am. emoBigSmile emoGeezer

Kingfish asked me about crappie having eggs this time of year. So, I included one pic of a fish that was building roe.
