Just letting you know that Weston now has fishable ice! I dont know how thick or what ? My inlaws just called and said there were 4 diffrent groups out fishing it!![fishin]

That sounds kind of dangerous. I doubt it's very thick considering Newton doesn't have any ice whatsoever. Well, to each their own. I wouldn't go out on it.

We stopped by weston today on the way back from Deep creek. Guy coming off the ice said that it was 3 inches and pretty solid. He was there all morning and had 2 bites. I wanted to try out my new flasher so we went out and drilled a couple of holes and stayed for about 20 minutes with no fish on the flasher. Blades were dull on the auger so we didnt want to drill any more holes so we left. Ice looks sketchy but it is pretty solid (3") around the dam.
Deep creek was hot all morning but wind got the best of us and we left at noon. 2 of us caught around 50 off the shore from 8-noon. Biggest at 19" and fat.

Wow, kind of crazy what a little increase in elevation and some shade can do. Now I'm really kicking myself for not hitting Deep Creek in my tube before ice up. Stupid leaves that had to be raked took all my free days. Oh well, next year I guess.
