Went out today to try a few holes and get on the ice for the first time this year. Fishing for the most part was as fast as you could handle. Caught 70 or so fish and lost probably an honest 20 right at the hole. Mostly 10-12 inch bows with a few albinos, tigers, Brooks, And gotta love early ice grayling.[Wink]

Nice report and great pictures! The ice looks like it would be pretty slippery. How thick was it?[Smile]

Congrats. I think that is the first grayling that I have seen anyone catch through the ice. Any chance you were fishing in front of a boat ramp?

That first lake was maybe 3" and the majority of the lake was still open. We only stayed on it till it started warming up then hurried to get off before we broke through. Very slick! The second lake however had a solid 8" easy walking.

No no boat ramp on this one. At least not that I am aware of.
