I was down in Beaver this weekend for Thanksgiving so I decided to go try Upper Kents. The weather was beautiful and the ice was about three inches thick. I tried it on Thanksgiving but only managed about twelve fish. Went back on Saturday and it was red hot I caught roughly 60 fish and had 6 double hook ups in about four hours. All the fish I caught were cutthroats,11 feet of water, jigs tipped with nightcrawlers.

If you are referring to the color of the fish they are red not orange they are some of the most beautiful fish. And yes the ice was slick I still have a headache not to mention the time I stood up and my chair blew clear across the lake.

I was referring to the plastics you were using. They look like Maniac Ice Cut'rs

The plastics I was using were little gitzit minnows but since I had caught so many fish the plastic on it was destroyed the fishing was so hot I took of the plastic and just fished with the jig head tipped with a nightcrawler.

Nice report. Are any of the gates locked yet or can you get past Laberon?

I only went as far as Upper Kents but the road was not bad another snow storm or two and it might not be good. I was told the Forest Circus only locks the gates in the spring so people can get to their cabins in the winter.
