Met Jerry at CFP about 8:30 this morning. We decided to start on some open water structure I have been trying to figure out. After about 20 minutes of graphing and throwing bouys we felt we had a pretty good idea of the layout. We caught 8 nice crappie there and missed about 10-15. It was a little windy, and the bite was very subtle. Most hookups were based on line movement or slack. It was a lot of fun to try and dope out were the fish should be out in the middle of the channel. Fish were just off the bottom in 18-20' of water. We used BG shad and PA's. I tried several colors, just to do something different. I don't think the color mattered.

We left there and decided to try some bluff fishing. Total strikeout. a couple of misses and that was it. We then moved to a couple of docks and managed to catch some nice keepers on both docks. Fish were again deep in 12' and 16' of water. Same baits on 1/16 0z jigs. Jerry had to leave at 2:30 so we hit a couple more docks and caught a few more keepers. I fished about another hour after he left. We ended the day with 33 crappie and 4 bass. Had a good day of fishing and fellowship.

We did establish a pattern, everytime Jerry decided there were no fish at a location and said it was time to move, one of us caught a good fish. So if you ever fish with Jerry, do not listen to his fishing wisdom. emoPoke . I think he is a contrarian indicator.

Sorry for the scary pic, I think my face was numb. Also posting a pic of some neighbor kids I took fishing last Sunday. The first crappie they caught was 13 1/2".

Good to see Drumking and Hal on the lake, I thought it must be Friday.

Regards, Norman
