I heard that you can get to east canyon res. in the winter from j ranch. its a long way to go up through morgan anyone got directions? thanks!!

There is a road. It runs alongside the creek that cokmes out of PC and goes through Jeremy ranch.
The road is dirt and not maintained by the government, that I know of. There is a big sign as you enter that says how much the towing company charges to come get you if you don't make it.
If you have high clearance, good snows with chains and 4wd you can make it if the weather has been good. You may encounter a drift or part that you can't make. Then you get to back up to the beginning.
It's about 8 to 12 miles if I remember correctly.
You can google map it and see most of it pretty well.

I thought the news said the road from hennifer was going to stay open to get to East canyon. am I wrong?

No it is closed last I heard on the news.

Thanks for the help, i do have a 4x4 p/u so i might check it out. anyone ever try it? sounds like a expensive risk though.

Last winter some one or some agency was keeping it plowed. I drove through several times. It was always snowpacked, so I would recommend 4WD, but the snow piled up on the sides was definitely from plowing. It was not near as bad as others have described and last year it was probably passable in a front wheel drive with good tires. I have not checked yet for condition this year If it is open, go slow as a lot of people cross country ski, and walk dogs in the area. A lot of foot / ski traffic for the first couple of miles after you leave Jeremy Ranch.
