Heard there was a cap on bear lake, with 2 days to spare of extreme cold weather. Has the ice stayed? Is it getting fishable?

we have 4 bear lakes in michigan that I know of, they all have been capped over then 14 inches of snowed cover, I have not heard of any one ventureing out on either of them,

walking on snow covered thin ice and being home for christmas dont mix.
