toAwfully quiet here on the fly fishing board. Not even any body posting ice flies!?! Was a beautiful day today.
Here is one of the ugliest flies I have ever tied,I was messing around with design today. Funny thing is I plan on fishing this soon.

Okay, is it coming or going and how do you tie it on? I am assuming it is straight down the hole.
I made a fly with two eyes. One shot up wards while the other straight. The idea was to drop it straight down and it would stick straight out horizontally.
Does that propeller spin?

I have put propellers on flies before, flattening them to take out the twist. Makes for an interesting glide in the water.
The idea is to tie to the eyeball side eye for it to mimic a minnow. Tie to the marabou side to imitate Craw.
I was also thinking of: some fish will hit the head some the tail.
How well did your 2 eye fly work?

Works great for jigging. Pain to tie though.
I will make one up and post it.
I like the in/out fly...that makes sense.

Nice! I am having trouble picturing it in my head.

Okay, here is a Pheasant Tail Horizontal. You can cut the bend off one hook or even stager the eyes so the that hooks are slightly out to the side, or like in this one, I just put the hooks side by side. One a straight eye, the other a down eye.

That's one interesting looking fly. I was just curious if it makes the fly look really bulky? Also what kind of success you have had with it?

As far as Bulk, I don't think so...this pattern doesn't really look bulky and the exposed hook shouldn't (and hasn't) posed any problem.
I used it a couple of years ago but it was a different fly pattern. Very shallow lake and I had a Chironomid plus a BB split shot below this fly.
Worked really well, I just can't remember why I quit using it other than maybe because it is a challenge to tie.
This Ice fishing thing is what got me to remember it.

Impressive way to level a fly without using led to do it. Thanks.
