i am thinking of going up on friday and want to take a snowmobile over by the ladders area. does anyone have a report on the ice over in that area? or any sort of predictions of what ice conditions may be like by this weekend?
thanks in advance

You might be pushing your luck taking a sled, I have heard of safe walking ice but nothing about 6-12 inches. I personally have not seen it for myself though. I may not be as daring as others are. Just a heads up.

I agree about not being as daring. I once saw a guy on the ice edge go right through on his snowmobile. Luckily he was able to get out and several guys were able to somehow get the snowmobile out of the water. I bet though that it was one exciting walk to the car for that guy though. Good luck.

No way buddy! The main lake isn't even frozen yet! There is very little ice to fish on at all. Mud creek is frozen with safe ice and that's it. I have a friend that has been duck hunting in Chicken Creek and a bunch of other bays and he said they have less than an inch there and the main lake has nothing at all. That was two days ago. It's going to be a while before you can fish it.
