This report is for Friday so it is a little late. We left out early Friday morning with the intention of fishing beneath the Nickajack Dam after getting there and looking at the water level and seeing trees and logs going down the river at 10 to 15 mph we decided to put in up in the lake at Shellmound. The air temp was in the mid to high 20's and the water temp was 49.5 with a stain in the creeks and the river was muddy with extremely strong current. We fished scattered grass in the creeks and coves and caught 9 fish with 7 being keepers and 2 shorts. The largest was almost 5 1/2 our best 5 would have weighed around 17 lbs. All fish were caught on a AZUMA Shaker Z lipless crank bait. We left the lake at about 12:10 pm and we still had ice in the eyes of our rods as late as 11:50 am.
