Went to the gym for workout and spin class this morning and then decided to try some fishing. Got on the water at 11:00. Was looking for some moderately clean water to start. First dock I fished was very shallow (4.5-6.5&#39 and was holding some decent fish. I caught 9 keepers there and a couple of smalls. It seemed to shut off so I moved on and fished 2 more deeper docks and only caught 3 more fish. Missed a couple though, lol.

Moved one more time and got on fish again on dock in 12' water. I ended the day with 18 nice fish between 11 and 13 1/2" and several smalls. All fish caught on docks, and the bait of the day was a PA in milky color with blue flecks and tail light on 1/16 oz jig. Also caught a few on BG Shad in bluegrass color.

I got to thinking about how crappie suspend under docks and I tried a shallower retrieve with some pauses. Bite was still very subtle, but I was getting the better fish on about a 3 count. Seems to change everyday, just have to experiment. All fish returned to the lake.

Have to excuse one of the pictures, got a shot of me and almost missed the fish, lol. Need to practice aiming the camera one handed.

Regards, Labman
