Wiperslayer and I fished up there today from 7am to 12 noon. We fished right off the boat ramp in 23' of water and were the first people on the ice as far as we could tell. Ice was 6 or 7 inches thick. Catching was fast the first thing in the morning for smaller bows and tigers. We were catching fish right up until we left but we never went out any farther than the buoys. WH2

I didn't know EC had tigers. I'm not up to date on my troutskies but it seems to me that tigers are planted to reduce the numbers of fish like chubs, are there chubs in EC or something similar? I remember reading reports of EC 'bows with guts full of crappie fry, is my memory correct? I might take a trip up there soon just to check it out on the ice, thanks for the report.

Tiger trout are a replacement for rainbows in some lakes but in EC they have both. I think that is because tigers cost a lot more money to produce than rainbows but the bows in EC are infected with parasites and I believe they have found that tigers are resistant to them. EC is one of those lakes that are heavily fished so it would be hard to have it totally converted over to tigers. I have never heard of EC having a chub problem but I believe it is the bear lake cutts that have been used in several lakes to control problems with chubs. There have been crappie in EC for a number of years but I don't think they consider them a problem but who knows.
