The crappie didn't get the memo this morning. Hal and I had about our worst day ever together. 2 crappie and 2 yellow bass was all that we could interest in our lures. Tough fishing conditions. We did our part, but the fish didn't do their part.

We did see one of Hal's friends and they only had about 4 or 5 crappie. We also saw Gator and Murdock and they had 2 fish. We fished from 8:00 til 1:00. If the fish feed at all today, it must be a late bite. We fished bluffs, roadbeds, docks, blowdowns, and everything except springs. Various weights and lures but it didn't seem to matter. The fish hated everything that we threw. emoBig

Flow rate this morning was 99,000 cfs. Water temp was from 45 to 46.9 depending on location, bright sunny skies, cold air temps (27 when we put in this AM), stained water in the river, and a little bit cleaner in sloughs. We fished drop shots rigs. We fished with floaters. We tightlined jigs. I forgot my perch colored hand grenades or we might have taken a few fish. emoBig We did not fish marinas. Today is the first day of winter. Just as soon as the water gets stablized, the crappie fishing will pick up big time. emoGeezer
