How was the ice?
Is the whole lake fishable now?
I would like to take my grandson out on the ice somewhere this next week.

Ice was about a foot thick where I was in the narrows. There was even four sleds out on the ice too. However, I wouldn't think the rest of the lake is in such good shape. I did not drive around to scout the lake conditions. There might even be some open water still in the main body unless it has recently capped.

[#800000]My bride and I took a drive up to Pineview on Christmas Day after eating our Christmas Dinner. We drove completely around the lake and out on Cemetery Point. The narrows had about 8 or 9 folks out fishing with all but one on the west side of the buoys. That means they were in the No Trespassing area of the narrows. Good luck with that. The parking area at the top of the walk down ramp was plowed to some degree.[/#800000]

[#800000]The Port Ramp road was plowed in off the highway about 75 yards or so with one car parked there. We could see one person at the dock area as we drove by. We could not see anybody out on the ice over in the bay north of Cemetery Point.[/#800000]

[#800000]When we got over to the Cemetery Point parking lot area we could not see anybody out on the ice except the ice skaters. They looked like they were enjoying themselves. We did see 2 snowmobiles going west to east out on the bay on the north side of the point. At least one had 2 people on it. It looks to me that it’s time to fish up there this next week and to use my snowmobile to get around.[/#800000]

[#800000]With single digits here in Hooper every night for the last 4 nights and knowing that the valley gets at least 10 to 15 degrees colder every night, the ice is thickening fast up there. Have a great week.[/#800000]
