Hit Pineview today. I fished the narrows. Caught just dink perch. What surprised me was how many anglers were fishing the other side of the bouyes. By the time I left around 1:00 about half of the people left were on the wrong side. It may not be marked great but I think everyone there knew they shouldn't be there. I guess we only need to obey the laws we like.

They are catching fish that's why they are there.

We've never done well in the Narrows. IMHO it's an overrated portion of PV. Them Perch and Crappie are all over that reservoir. We've always been able to find large Perch and Crappie in areas other than the Narrows. Haven't been on PV yet this season but plan on making a journey this week. So we shall see if we're able to find some larger Perch/Crappie that aren't in the Narrows.

I fished on the north side of the cemetery with a small group today. We iced about 50 perch. Some dinks, some nice ones. We were in 40-50 feet of water using anything small. No crappies :-( They seemed to like smooth jigging and often hit on the way up (when jigging). Missed what seemed like a hundred bites.

anything specific? colors or tipped with bait? headin there tomorrow to hopefully put the hurt on some perch. my wife's stipulation for me getting the ice fishing gear for christmas was to bring her home some perch. so hopefully i wont be sleepin on the couch for a few nights.

green was the best. the Gulp Alive baits tipped with a wax worm worked best. Rat Flinkies (green and glow). Perch meat a little and not so much with the meal worms. Almost all were on the bottom with the exception of a couple nice schools that were suspended (saw it on my vexilar). Best to stay on the bottom couple feet though. Try the point west of the cemetery for bigger perch if you want to walk just a bit. Hope that helps.

awesome thank you very much. not sure where exactly we will be heading, but i will suggest that area. have a few "go to" green/black glowing ice flies so hopefully those will do the trick. i will post a report tomorrow afterwards with hopefully alot of pictures.

i was wondering the same thing about fishing on the wrong side of the booyes so i decided to ask a local cop about it, and there reply was that it was fine to fish on the west side of them. so until i find out different i think ill keep fishing there. its the only place we have cought any crappies!!!

Ha, ha, ha, such a kidder, everyone knows that all the crappies in Pineview take a mass exodus to the narrows at ice up and stay there all winter [Wink]. Just look at the other reportsTongueERCH at the cemetery, CRAPPIE at the narrows.[fishon]
