The fishing was extremely slow at the pump house today. Had a few bites but we could not hook the pesky things today the bite was extremely light! The bites would hardly move the strike indicator. saw a few people catch some gills but no whities. using small jigs in chartreuse and glow tipped with waxies. Had a great day though beautiful day on the ice enjoying the sun!

It was the same for me yesterday on UL but I managed to catch about 50 gills and 20 or so crappie. The crappie had lock jaw and were barely striking. Anyone targeting crappie when they are finicky should go with small chartreuse ice flies or trout magnets. No complaints about the gills though. They get really good sized at UL and you have to admire the fight they wage considering their size.

I was also at the pump house on Saturday. Not sure if we crossed paths or not, but I got there about 3pm and fished until 5:30pm. The bites were definitely lite, but I managed to land 30+ gills, with only 10 being in the 8 inch range. wagdog was also there and he landed a little over 20.

I guess I should of stayed a little longer I had to leave around 2:30. My kids hands were getting cold.

How thick was the Ice? and how deep were you fishing?

I didn't measure the thickness, but I would guess it was at least 6-8". There were guys on 4 wheelers pulling sleds around in the channel area.
As for depth, we were somewhere between 2 to 6 feet off the bottom.

Did you try those White grubs!!! Supposedly some have been catching fish on 2" grubs with 1/16 oz lead head... Fish have been around the 15-20 ft range...

I didn't try the White grubs. I was using size 8 or 10 Jammin Jig, Rat Finkee, and a silver glow Swedish pimple.

I did try some cicada lures which usually work for white bass but they did not trigger any bites nor did the sonars.
