My son Michael & I went to Salmon. I bought him a combo liscense for Christmas so he couldn't use the excuse that he didn't have one. First time in maybe 10 yrs that he's gone with me.
We had a great time and he caught 2 - 3 #ers.
We even had a fish take a pole down, pulled the bucket over and the holder went down with the pole. I put on a Jigging Rap and after a few minutes caught the line and pulled up the pole minus the fish. Thank you Lord[

It is amazing how often poles are lost or almost lost. I came dang close to losing one on Chesterfield the other day. I caught it by the end of the pole as it was exiting the surface.

Michael (or anyone w/ info) how has the fishing been at Salmon Falls Res lately? I'm heading down to fish it Sun and Mon.. How's the ice and the roads going in? If I can get to the res. w/ the wifes mini van that would be great, if not I'll take the jeep but it's not as roomy. Any info would be much appreciated, Thanks [fishon]

I was good last weekend and should still be, Grey's Landing should be fine to get to with your van and Big Sand Bay should be OK as well. Although if it's raining the jeep would be better.
