I'm going to be in San Diego this upcoming week & was wondering which lakes allow tubing. Any recommendations on good spots for LMB?
Thanks!

ONe of our members fishes the upper and lower otay lakes a lot for bass... he has posted some impressive looking fish..
other than that you may want to check out the sdfish.com site .. they list all the san diego area lakes and most of the lakes give specifics on float tubing..
just be aware that a lot of lakes that used to allow tubing and/or personal water craft have stopped because of the quagga mussel and/or mud snail problems..
you may also want to check the archives of this forum because there was a similar post on this topic not that long ago..

Upper/Lower Otay, El Capitan, Murray, and Miramar will be your main options from a tube right now. All of these lakes should be producing fish right now (haven't got any word on Uppers lately), but you will have to work for them.
I hear El Cap has had a decent bite, but I'm not sure how reachable they are from a tube. I fished Lower Otay from my boat last week, only got one in about 3 hours but heard others did better. Murray, I hear it's a little tricky locating them (fish are deep) but they are there. Not sure what's up with Miramar but they stock nice-sized trout if you are into them.
Hope this helps.
