Well four of us hit the Northwest side of Otter Creek on Saturday morning. It was -4 degrees when we got there at about 9:00 am. The ice was about 14” thick and very hard with about 1” of snow on top. Started out in about 16’ of water and were getting several bites but they were so light that we couldn’t catch them. I finally got two of them on the deck but both were probably only 8” long. After a while some kind gentleman was nice enough to offer his power auger so we moved out about 100 yards. The water was about 20’ deep there. When we ended with 13 fish between the four of us but I was lucky enough to get 10 of them. Leroy got 2, Dave got one, and Jay went home skunked. All of the fish we caught were under 12” long. Used a small ice ant with about 1” of night crawler.
Thanks again to the guy from Fountain Green who let us use his power auger!

Glad to see you caught some fish and had some fun, no matter the size. I was busy with my boys out to Lincoln beach off the point catching bluegills, and a few cappie, perch, and one bullhead catfish.
