Size 8 or 10 Rat Finkees work great. You may have to order them online since Sportsmans seem to be out, at least in Provo.

I personally prefer the Glow Brite/Pink in size 10 tipped with a wax worm. Another option is a Slim Rat from Jammin Jigs.

I have used all of the colors, but have had most success with Green and Pink in size 8 or 10. Then again, at the pump house for gills, anything small tipped with a wax worm will work if you get it at the right depth and can detect the lite bites.

As for my bobber, I like to use a foam bobber, like the Ice Buster.

I got mine at Sportsman and it was 3 inches or so and about the same size as a cigarette. I also bought one at Cabelas (cause Sportmans was out) and it was 5 inches and twice as thick. I prefer the shorter and thinner one for gills. The reason I like these bobbers is that you can use it in a slip bob setup and easily put them on or take them off without having to cut your line and re-tie. Or course, you do need to have a slip bobber stop on your line to make it work.

Hope that helps and good luck.

a bobber stop is that just a loop tied in your line?

You don't tie a loop in your main fishing line. You can buy bobber stops at a sporting goods joint or you can make your own with a rubber band, piece of dental floss, etc. You basically need something that ties in a not around your main line. It will need to slide so you can use it to set depth.
