Decided to give Electric Lake a Try as we wanted some trout for the smoker. The weather was really great, no wind, and warm enough to take off our coats in the middle of the day. Fished from 10 feet to 30. Morning was the best and quicest bite, but we got fish all day. Red shiner meat seemed to be the best, tipped on anything. Just one other party on the lake. The quite was really scary. Great day and worth the drive.

We just finished filletting the fish and we were really surprised on the dark color of the fish. They are as dark orange as we've ever seen. Can't wait to smoke them

Great pics. How thick was the ice and how was the road getting there?

The ice was atleast 18 inches thick. There is 3 to 4 inches of snow on top also. We parked by the dam, but if you go get there early as there is only room for two cars to park right at the dam. They keep the road down Huntington canyon open year round so the roads were great. Be sure to get away from the crowds.ha,ha.

I have read that getting to the lake on the north side of dam can be a problem with deep snow--did you have that problem.

great to hear ya got up there and got into them!.. i have seen some bigger fish come out of there the last 3 years.. but not on the ice for some reason.. oh well some day them tigers will get bigger i hope..lol
the parking there by the buildings on the dam is for the powerplant workes to park and check the equipment.. but they dont mind if ya park there just leve room for them to park there as well.. and there is plenty of parking along the fince to the north.. and south of there there is a big plowed turn-out.
