My brothers, dad, and I and four kids hit the south west side by the dam yesterday. Got there early and set up in 10 to 25 feet of water. Had hits at all depths on tube jigs with meal worm, half night crawler, and ice flies with wax worms. Had pretty good action up until 2:00 or so.

Around 11:30 we ventured out in search of some perch, went half way over to the high way and found some perch in depths ranging from 45 to 65 ft. Never found a big school of larg perch, they all ranged from 3 to 8 inches. We did pick up a couple of skinny 16 inch browns off the bottom while fishing for the perch, as well as some more rainbows fishing down about 10 ft. All our rainbows ranged from 15 to 17 inches.

Was a really fun day, when we left there were lots of people over there and we could see a large crowd out from the State Park as well. Measured the ice and it was 8" everywhere we went with an inch of snow on top. The four of us with help from the kids each kept 4 nice rainbows.

Thanks for the report. How do you guys get access to the dam area, did you just park off the highway and climb down the hill? Glad to hear that you got into the fish.

That was us (two guys) who spoke with you guys around noon. We fished just past the buoys in 8-105 feet of water and found the bows from 5-20 feet under the ice. Actions wasn't fast but consistent all morning. We landed about 15 fish and almost all of them were between 16-18 inches. No browns or perch but we didn't fish deep. I will probably go back up this week and target the browns and perch. It was a super long walk so I will have to find another way to do it!

There's a parking area and a trail that goes down the side of the lake under the railroad. You turn left just before the highway turns and goes along under the dam. Like was mentioned, it is a good walk, might be shorter from the state park if you don't mind paying.
