Well we went and launched a boat at the marina this afternoon and busted out the remaining ice. You can now easily launch boats at the marina. Ramp is plowed and a big pile of sand was left at the bottom of the ramp for "just in case" situations. Fishing on the lake has been good. Try off the rockpile in about 40' of water for cisco and whitefish by vertically jigging with small spoons or 1-2" jigs. Tipping them with a salmon egg has been productive. Cutthroat and lake trout are being taken off the outer edge of the rockpile in about 50-70 foot depths on tube jigs and jigging spoons tipped with cisco. South of Gus Rich point there are weedbeds that run parallel to shore in about 20-35' of water and have been good and will continue to be good for whitefish. Use small jigging spoons and/or ice flys tipped with a salmon egg or wax worm. The lake is entirely open water. As for the cisco run, it has been difficult netting fish this year. Last week the wind blew everyday. Monday was the first calm day and the fish were disturbed enough by the wave wash that they moved off the beach out of reach of dipnets. A few anlgers are still managing to dip net some cisco off the marina dikes in the early mornings. No cisco have been sighted in either location in the evenings. The run has peaked and will continue for another 4-5 days.
