I took my dad to Rockport Monday and he finally caught a trout through the ice...and it was a chunky 17" rainbow to boot.

I've enjoyed introducing my children to ice fishing, but it was a blast seeing my dad act like a kid pulling that trout onto the ice.

Conditions: 5" slush under 4" new snow. Early in the morning the slush was partly frozen, as the day progressed it thawed. Walking a challenge.

Report: Only caught four trout, no perch on the flasher or camera. Trout cruising through at various depths and were not picky about what we offered.

I am sure it meant the world to him that it was you who introduce him to ice fishing.Good for the both of you! [cool] I am a Grandparent x 14. Two of my son inlaws go with me and several of the grandkids. Its great sharing the experience with the ones you love.[fishin]

Thats pretey cool. I always have thought of the look on the face of a kid with his first fish, but I bet it was just as cool with your pop. Thats awesome,
