I'd like to join ya but I have plans. I did get to meet Joe Fisherman today at DC at Rainbow bay. It was nice to meet ya Joe. I caught about 9 dinks is all. In 60 feet of water. Once the minus degree temperature fog lifted at about 10:30ish, It turned out to be a beautiful day. Seen a lot of fish come through, very light bite. Was there any other BFT members amongst us? And how did you do?

Ivan and I were out there and we look and looked for you, It would have been cool to meet you. The fog was BAD!!! and It was no wonder we couldn't see your flag if you had it up. Glad to hear you got into some. We were there for about 2 hours and marked quite a few on the finder, we saw 2 hit the bait @ 5' under the Ice, but no hookups. We were in 51' and the trout were moving right under the ice 3'-15' under ice. Ivan got cold in a hurry and we decided to leave. I sopke with uite a few there today and the story was sloooow. Everyone was in good spirits tho. We spent the rest of the day @ UL with so so results. It was a nice day on the water tho. Catch ya on the flip side, and hope to meet you soon,

We were late to get up there so stopped off in the wallsberg arm. We also had slush in spots. Caught a bunch of bows, largest going 16 inches but really fat. Lots of small ones we put back. One brown about 20 inches. We never keep the browns and Rustyhook released it too fast for me to get a picture. The only perch we caught were in the trouts stomachs. We stayed till dark and the bite seemed to pick up at sun down. Great day.

Hey Glen,
I was out there amongst you today in Rainbow Bay. We got to the parking lot at 10:30, just in time to meet Fishkillr as he was leaving. We fished maybe 80 yards north of you in 60' of water. We started getting bites as soon as we dropped down. Would have come over and said hi but the perchlettes were keeping me occupied. The bite slowed down for us around 2pm. About the time I noticed you leaving.
I wish we could have got into some bigger ones. The bite was very light. We fished until 3pm and ended up with 18 perch. Most were between 7" and 8". Dinks. Filleted 16 and kept two small ones for bait.
It was a nice day. Great scenery.

Great to meet you pikeman and thanks for the spare perch. Those are some tough fish. I thought they were dead when we threw them in the bag with some snow. Either it was just muscle twitches or they were still kicking. I can tell you this, I have never seen trout twitch for so long without a head. Ill have to try your recipe.
As for my report, we caught 3 perch before the misses started texting and we had to leave. That was some thick fog, crazy how it would clear for 5 min and everyone would get bites till it fogged up again. Very strange and very cold day on the lake. Got skunked on the trout but I was there for the perch.

My dad offered up his tent and power auger for the evening to go do some night fishing. I just couldn't pass up the chance to go night fishing.
Hit the lake bout 530 which is about the time that the last person was getting off the lake. Had my holes drilled bout 100 yards west of the island. It was another great catch and release day I mean night. Caught around 15 -20 rainbows. It was a steady 5 mins between bites once I got the tent and everything set up. Slowed down at 8 pm. Left at 10. Kept a couple of nice ones for my grandpa. He doesn't fish at all but he sure does love those fresh rainbows.
First night fishing trip in a few years and can't wait to do it again.
Also ended up seeing 6 does as I was heading to my spot. They came from clear across the lake to within 50 yards of me. Took some pics but they came out a little blurry.
Maybe next time I'll be able to come out and meet a couple of you fellow BFT'rs.

There was three of us and we drilled tons of holes trying to find the magic spot. We saw others come and go. Not sure where you were. Glad you got some also. We all need a flag like Pikeman99 so others will know who we are.
