What do you recommend for Lake Mead?

I would probably use the same thing I use at Lake powell. Spinner baits for bass in white, white/chartreuse, and chartreuse. In plastics try a texas rigged worm (I prefer pumkinseed color), jig a grub chartreuse and white are both great colors. Cranks, try something that resembles other fish such as perch colors or similar.

Hello iamthesmf,

I use bucktail jail jigs and rubber swimbaits.

Where do you folks purchase your lures? Online or locally?

Thanks. I got some rigs from BPS on line. The $32 rig is HUGE, didn't this it was that big. The description did say 7-1/2" baits and the 12/0 hook on the trailer bait.

Looks like a smaller rig will be the way to go.
May have to raffle the big rigs at the NSC meeting.

Hello iamtheesmf,

It will work 2oz weight is ok I have used 6 inch teasers and a 8 inch trailer. If you want down size the teasers and uses them for back up trailer baits.

Remember the trout that NDOW release are between 9 and 11 inches long.

Remember In Nevada you can only have two baits with hooks!!!!! Good Luck!!!

What size line should I use. The setup I have now is 7' med/heavy with a 2/0 baitcaster. It's the Bill Dance Catfish rig from BPS that I normally string with 50# braid.

Your set up should work I have a line counter 27 with 65 lb braid and a 7'6 rod. Other set up is 7 ft cat fish rod med heavy with 30 lb mono. I have had no problems with either. Now get out there and try it and let us know your results.
