Fished there saturday from 12-5, started at the boat ramp and drilled about every 30' 12-14" of ice all the way across jiging in some and checking depth. Ended up on the far side along the rocks hoping for a stray walleye. Had one bump on a mister jigger setup and had a female bow on till she broke off when I was trying to land her.

So catchin and bumpin but a great day fisin with a friend. Sorry no pic's.

Michael,

I am planning on heading up to Oakley this week one day. What depths did you fish at. Was the edge ice solid or did you need a plank? Did you target perch at all? Thanks for the report!

Edge was fine in the morning but was thin where we go on but there were better spots, but a plank might be wise to have with cause the edge did break off when we left.

We were right up against the rocks straight across from the ramp (you will see our drill path over there) and it was 15' there and the deepest we marked going across was 30'. Never saw anything on the finder that made me think there was a perch down there, but that is what I try to find or walleye.

If I were to try again I would think of going to the south end where goose creek comes in and trying there. More sand and mud bottom not sure how far you'd need to go till there was deep enough water.

The ice was 12- 14" so a machine would be OK but having only fished it this time I don't know about any soft spots or how the rest of the reservoirs ice might be. There was a big part up near the dam that is open water.

Hope you find them and I hope there the right size for keeping. Please share any info and pitures if you make it up there.
