Hey all. My 1st post.
Hit Scofield today with the boys. Broke the ice about 8:00 and we were all somewhat frustrated by around 1:00. We left the East shore then hit the back road to the west shore. We walked straight down from the Anglers access gate about 150 yds out. The slush was almost unbearable for the young ones but they wanted to fish on. We fished in only 8 ft of water and immediately got hits. The boys were using crawlers and making a killing. 2 - 1 cutts to Rainbows with one tiger. Biggest was 18" but most were under the slot.
Great site!!! I plan to visit daily!!!

My dad started taking me out ice fishing when I was 4, learned some good lessons like augers are sharp and it's always the unwatched pole that gets the hit [
] That's probably what started my love of fishing! Good on you for taking your boys out!

Hey! Welcome to the board great people and info.
Looks like you and the boys had a great time. Fun getting the young ones into fish. West side Scofield is just the place.
I fished Scofield yesterday. I started out by the dam. I met up with TS30 and three of his friends there. I fished by them for about an hour and a half. Caught 11 small rainbows and one tiger. Decided to head to the west side. I probably should have stayed...they caught 3 tigers over twenty inches after I left.
Got my hole drilled on the west side about 11:00 and immediately started catching fish fairly fast. Mostly cutts, few rainbows, and one tiger. I caught 33 on the west side and left about 2:00 when the bite stopped. Everything I tried caught fish. Tipped with crawler, meal, and wax worms...really didn't matter. Couple of doubles. Jigging helped, second pole didn't see alot of action.
Slush was forming by the edge, and got worse as the day progressed. With the holes that were drilled yesterday it was probably alot worse today. Water was seeping out of my holes all day. Kind of soupy when I left.
Glad to see you found the west side. Not too busy over there, but there are a few fish to be had.

Great first post, well done you have some nice fish there. Never tried the west side, where is the anglers access gate at if you don't mind me asking?

Don't mind at all Hook Setter. Drive past the lake into the town of Scofield. Turn right on any road through the houses then North again. Very Easy. Access gate is maybe 1 mi. You won't miss it. GL
